ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT SURVEY

The purpose of the management survey is to locate asbestos-containing materials (ACM’s) and identify any potential for their disturbance/damage during the normal occupation and use of your premises/buildings. The duty-holder can undertake a management survey where the premises are simple and straightforward. Otherwise, a surveyor is needed.

A Management Survey aims to ensure that:

  • nobody is harmed by the continuing presence of ACM in the premises or equipment;
  • the ACM remain in a good condition or be repaired or removed where this is not possible
  • all relevant persons know where it is
  • nobody accidentally disturbs it

The Survey, as far as reasonably practicable, will locate any ACM’s that could be damaged or disturbed during normal activities, foreseeable maintenance work or by new equipment installations. It involves minor intrusion and minor ACM disturbance to make a materials assessment that will show the ability of the ACM, if disturbed, to release fibres into the air. It therefore helps the client to identify and prioritise any required remedial works required.

Your survey report will aid you to design a plan to manage any risks from the ACM’s

MANAGEMENT SURVEY REPORT

Your PASS (UK) Ltd report will detail asbestos types, locations, extent, condition, surface treatments, friability and exposure potential. Using algorithmic scoring these will give a risk category and priority for remedial work. Your report will also contain an annotated floor plan/s showing the location and extent of any ACM’s and any relevant additional information.
